Pals
Many years ago Glen Lake's first elementary counselor, Harriet Jones, started the award winning PALS program. The tradition continued with our next counselor, Mary Long, and is still alive and well today. The Pals program pairs a volunteer high school mentor with an elementary student in kindergarten, first, second or third grade. These Pals meet once a week to play games, create artwork, talk, and just hang out. High school "big pals" must apply to be a mentor for a "little pal" and typically stay with this same child for several years.
